Event promotion had long been divided across multiple platforms, making it difficult for promoters and anyone interested in attending an event to get a full view of what and who was available and interested in a given area. In this light, a new client came to us with the goal of creating software which would announce nearby events that match a user’s preferences and location, while at the same time functioning as a social network.
Initially, the client saw this project as a messenger that would send alerts to users, but the Magora marketing and development teams demonstrated just how much more potential there was in the idea. Building on the client’s premise, the team planned a globally-accessible application that generated a news feed arranged based on interests, friends’ recommendations, subscriptions, and the current location of a user.
Our developers analysed a number of popular multifunctional programs, such as social networks, messengers, and event apps, to create a solution that would provide users with a convenient engine for searching events and the expansive functionality of a social network and structured photo and video gallery.
Development began with an MVP(Minimum Viable Product - a simple, but working application with the most important features). This version ran on a basic interface and key functionality, was coded in Java and ran on all iOS devices. Once this was live, we conducted a wide market survey of complex designs to determine the best features for our user interface (UI). Coupled with user experience testing, we expanded both the intuitive and user-friendly nature of the UI for the application. The next version incorporated these design features, as well as additional, upgraded functionality.

ShowApp’s event search technology runs on numerous filters, such as tags, location, name of event, attendees, rating, event start/end dates and times, etc., all to best facilitate the greatest experience for users.
When this client came to us, they had a very raw idea about the type of software they wanted, but no familiarity with the app or web development process. That’s where Magora stepped in. In partnership with our developers, this business idea was realised in the form of a mobile application with an advanced event search system and a convenient, extensive social component for iOS devices (Android currently in development). ShowApp has been available on the App Store since May 2016, and it continues to gain a rapidly growing following. These successes have shown such promise that we are already in discussions with this client about the next project: an advanced messenger.
At the moment, ShowApp is completely free for download, and as the client follows their business plan, it will continue to be so until the next stage of monetisation. Over the next 18 months, ShowApp is expected to attract hundred of thousands, if not millions, of users and will follow a monetisation strategy developed by Magora marketers that will incorporate:
