Magora’s latest case study is a mobile application created for Danone - a multinational food corporation that produces dairy products, water, baby food and medical nutrition. The company wanted to develop an app for product quality control that would enable information on product placement and defects in the retail environment to be sent to the quality control department. At the time, Danone was looking for a team of professional app creators who would breathe new life into the project. The corporation put the project out to tender and eventually chose Magora over many other candidates to work on its new mobile app. Our team was excited to gain such a great opportunity to prove our expertise and sprang into action.

At the pre-sale stage, Magora’s experts created two design concepts that kept in line with the established branding of the company and helped the client revise software requirement specifications. Danone stakeholders were impressed by our broad expertise and tech-savvy approach, and invited us to develop a mobile app for iOS and Android from scratch.

One of the major challenges of the project was related to limited the timeframe and budget allocated by the company. Our experts had to find a way to craft user-friendly and fully functional software with minimal resources and without compromising on quality. We successfully tackled the challenge, making the most out of the available time and budget. As a result of in-depth market analysis, robust programming and rigorous testing, we delivered a cross-platform application with the following features:

  • Intuitive interface that is easy to learn and a pleasure to use;
  • Instant on-shelf status updates;
  • Comprehensive reporting functionality;
  • Outstanding design in line with corporate branding;
  • Availability on the App Store and Google Play.

We utilised the following technologies:

MySQL, PHP, Objective-C, Android SDK

Danone — solution

Besides developing the project from scratch, Magora provided comprehensive support in getting the app to the market, helping Danone register its Apple Developer account and providing assistance in getting a Dun & Bradstreet D-U-N-S Number.
The app, now available on leading app marketplaces, allows Danone to monitor the shelf life of products and withdraw defective items in a timely manner, improving customer loyalty and increasing sales.
