An IT professional who arranges one of the most fantastic hackathons in San Francisco engaged us to work with him on an exciting new project. Being a true professional, our customer approached us with a clear vision and very specific requirements to boot. We needed to build a platform where tech specialists could share opinions, exchange experience, and take part in events or organize them.
We were thrilled to work on a portal for developers - this fact also added extra pressure to make everything absolutely flawless. We discussed multiple options during the process, but ended up opting for a combination of PHP and Yii Framework that we know so well. This website is essentially a ”social network that turns hackathon projects into tech start-ups”. After a quick sign up, users can initiate and take part in both on- and offline hackfests, discuss problems with other professionals or find answers. The site also features a splendid search with multiple filter parameters. You can browse projects, technologies, members and organizations. Find your perfect codefest and create some awesomeness!
