Services — MVP development

MVP development company,
live in 6–8 weeks.

Magora is a London MVP development company. We build production-grade MVPs for UK startups from £10,000 — code you keep and scale, not a throwaway demo.

What we offer

MVP development
services.

Startup MVP development for founders who need to prove demand, win users or raise a round — mobile, web, SaaS and AI products, built by one senior London team from first prototype to launch.

01 — Mobile

MVP app development

iOS and Android MVPs in React Native or Flutter — one codebase, both stores, native modules where the product needs them.

02 — Web & SaaS

MVP web and SaaS development

Subscription web products with sign-up, billing, roles and an admin panel — the plumbing a SaaS MVP needs before its first paying customer.

03 — AI

AI MVP development

LLM features, retrieval over your own data and agent workflows, built with guardrails and cost limits from the first release. See AI and ML development.

04 — Scope

MVP scoping & discovery

A two-week discovery sprint turns an idea into a prioritised feature list, a costed architecture and a fixed-price quote you can take to investors.

05 — Prototype

Free working prototype

A clickable prototype of your core flow, built from your brief before any paid engagement. You keep it whether or not you go on to build with us.

06 — Grow

Post-launch iteration

Analytics on every key step, weekly releases after launch and a retainer when you need one — the MVP becomes version one of the product, not a demo to rebuild.

How we build

An MVP that proves
one thing well.

Same engineers from kickoff to launch. Weekly demos. No offshore rotation.

Pillar 01

Cut to the thesis

An MVP answers one question: will people use and pay for this? We argue feature by feature for the smallest release that answers it — founders almost always ask for more than the first version needs.

Pillar 02

Production-grade, not throwaway

Real authentication, a real database, CI/CD and hosting you own. The code that validates the idea is the code you scale, so a good result does not trigger a rewrite.

Pillar 03

Measured from week one

Event tracking on activation, retention and conversion ships with the first release. You see what users actually do, not what they say in interviews.

Prototype, PoC or MVP?

What a minimum viable product
actually is.

A minimum viable product is the smallest version of a product that real customers can use and pay for, built to test whether the market wants it. It is often confused with two cheaper things.

Prototype

Tests the idea

A clickable model of the key screens. No backend, no real data. It answers “do people understand it and want it?” in days, and it is what we build for free before you commit.

Proof of concept

Tests the technology

A narrow technical spike — can this model, integration or data source do what the product needs? Useful when the risk is technical rather than commercial.

MVP

Tests the market

The smallest real product that real users can sign up to, use and pay for. It runs in production, collects data and becomes version one of the product.

MVP development cost

What an MVP costs
in the UK, 2026.

Our published prices, in GBP. The final figure depends on user roles, integrations, platforms and compliance — discovery turns it into a fixed quote.

£0

Free working prototype

A clickable prototype of your core idea, built before any paid engagement. No commitment.

from £3,000

Discovery sprint · 2 weeks

Senior Product Owner and Solution Architect: scope, architecture, estimate and roadmap.

from £10,000

Startup MVP · 6–8 weeks

Production-grade MVP for UK startups. Most land between £10,000 and £25,000 — see our UK app cost guide.

from £30,000

Full production build

When the first release needs to be a complete web, mobile or platform product rather than an MVP.

£3,500–£9,000

Per month, after launch

Maintenance retainer: support, SLAs and iterative development once the MVP is live.

£450–£720

Per day, dedicated developers

Senior UK developers for teams that already have a product owner — UK day rates explained.

Process

From idea to launch
in six steps.

Roughly two to three months from the first call to live users, with something you can click at every stage.

Step 01

Free prototype

Before you commit

We turn your brief into a clickable prototype of the core flow, so the first conversation is about something you can click rather than a document.

Your brief Clickable flow No commitment
Step 02

Discovery sprint

2 weeks

User roles, the one metric the MVP has to move, a prioritised feature list and a costed architecture. You leave with a fixed-price quote.

Feature priority Architecture Fixed price
Step 03

UX & design

1–2 weeks

Wireframes and UI design for the MVP scope only, tested with a handful of target users before production code is written.

User flows UI kit User testing
Step 04

Build in sprints

4–6 weeks

Weekly sprints with a demo every week. Authentication, payments, admin and analytics come first because every later feature depends on them.

Weekly demos CI/CD Code in your repo
Step 05

QA & launch

1 week

Automated and manual testing, App Store and Google Play submission or web release, monitoring and alerts switched on before the first user arrives.

Testing Store release Monitoring
Step 06

Measure & iterate

After launch

We read the analytics with you, fix what blocks activation and plan the next release from real usage rather than the original wish list.

Frequently asked

MVP development
questions.

How much does MVP development cost in the UK?

At Magora a startup MVP starts from £10,000, and most land between £10,000 and £25,000. The price is driven by the number of user roles, integrations (payments, banking, third-party APIs), whether you need iOS, Android and web at launch, and any compliance work.

We start with a free working prototype, then a discovery sprint from £3,000 that ends in a fixed-price quote. For a quick estimate, try the app cost calculator.

How long does it take to build an MVP?

A typical MVP takes 6–8 weeks of build after a two-week discovery sprint — roughly two to three months from first call to launch. Products with regulated data, several user roles or heavy integrations take longer, and discovery tells you how much longer before you commit.

What is the difference between a prototype, a proof of concept and an MVP?

A prototype is a clickable model that tests whether people understand and want the idea. A proof of concept tests whether a piece of technology can do the job. An MVP (minimum viable product) is the smallest real product users can sign up to, use and pay for — it runs in production and becomes version one of your product.

Will the MVP have to be rebuilt when we scale?

It should not. We build MVPs production-grade — real authentication, a proper database, automated tests, CI/CD and hosting you own — so the code that validates the idea is the code you grow. What changes as you scale is infrastructure and new features, not a rewrite of the foundations.

Should we build our MVP with low-code or no-code instead?

Sometimes, yes. Low-code is a good fit for internal tools and for testing demand quickly when the product logic is simple. It becomes expensive when you need custom logic, integrations, performance or ownership of the code. We compare the two honestly in our guide to low-code MVP development, and we will tell you in discovery if low-code is the cheaper route.

Do you build AI MVPs?

Yes. AI features — an LLM assistant, search over your documents, classification or an agent workflow — are built into the MVP with evaluation, cost limits and data-protection controls from the first release. See AI and ML development for how we approach models and data.

Who owns the code and intellectual property?

You do. The code is committed to your repository as it is written, and full ownership of source code, designs and IP transfers to you on payment. We sign an NDA on day one, before you share the idea.

Can you take over an MVP built by another agency or freelancer?

Yes. We start with a code and architecture review, tell you plainly what can be kept, and fix what blocks launch or growth first. Sometimes the right answer is to keep most of it; occasionally it is to rebuild one part — you get the reasoning in writing either way.
