Mobile app design agency,
London.
Magora is a London mobile app design agency. We design iOS and Android apps — research, user journeys, a clickable prototype tested with real users and production UI in Figma — and, if you want, build them with the same team. Free working prototype in 5–10 working days; a designed and built MVP from £10,000 in 6–8 weeks.
App design agency,
in one paragraph.
Magora is a London app design agency, in business since 2010, with more than 500 digital products delivered. We design mobile apps for startups and established companies: user research, user journeys, a clickable prototype that real users test, iOS and Android UI, a design system and a developer handover. Our designers work next to our iOS and Android developers, so every screen is designed to be built, and we can build it too. If you only need a few screens polished in an app that already works, a freelance designer may be the cheaper choice, and we say so.
Founders and product teams
Startups designing a first app, and companies redesigning an app that users find hard to use.
Free prototype first
A working prototype of your core journey in 5–10 working days, before any paid work.
Your designs, your IP
Figma files, design system and IP transferred to you on payment. NDA on day one.
Mobile app design
services.
Most projects combine several of these. For a first release we keep the research short and spend the time on the journeys that matter most.
App UX research
Interviews and usability tests with the people who will use the app, so the design follows what they do, not what they say.
User journeys & app structure
Sign-up, the core task, payments and settings mapped as flows, so nobody needs a manual.
Clickable prototype
A prototype on a real phone, tested with users before a line of production code is written.
iOS and Android UI
Production screens that follow Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design, in your brand.
Design system
Colours, type, components and states in one library, so the 200th screen matches the first.
Developer handover
Figma with developer mode, annotated edge cases and prototype links, ready for your team or ours.
Design only,
or design and build?
Three ways clients work with our app design team. The right one depends on who will build the app.
You have developers
We research, prototype and design; your in-house or partner team builds from our Figma handover.
One team, start to finish
The same team designs and builds the app: a designed and built MVP from £10,000 in 6–8 weeks.
An app users struggle with
We test the current app with users, find where they drop off and redesign those journeys first.
How we design
a mobile app.
Every step ends with something you can see and test, and the people who will use the app are involved from the first week.
User research
1–2 weeksInterviews with up to 10 users, user roles and the journeys that matter most.
Product scope
1 weekUser stories and priorities agreed with you, so the first release does one thing well.
Prototype & UI design
2–3 weeksClickable prototype and production UI for iOS and Android, tested with real users before development.
Design system & handover
Within designComponents, states and annotated edge cases handed over in Figma with developer mode.
Build, if you want it
6–8 weeks for an MVPOur iOS and Android developers build the app in two-week sprints, with the designers on the team.
What app design
costs.
Our 2026 prices in GBP, published on our pricing page. We do not publish a design-only price list: design-only work is quoted after a free call, once we know the number of journeys and platforms. For a quick figure for the whole app, try the cost calculator.
A working prototype of your core journey in 5–10 working days, before any paid work.
Two weeks: user journeys, scope, estimate and roadmap, ending in a fixed price for the build.
Design and development of a first release in 6–8 weeks.
A production iOS and Android app with backend and admin, typically 3–6 months.
Multi-role, integration-heavy apps for larger organisations, scoped after Discovery.
Support retainer after launch: OS updates, fixes and new features.

Mobile app design
questions.
It turns an app idea or an existing product into screens people can use without instructions. At Magora that means user research, user journeys and app structure, a clickable prototype tested with real users, the final UI for iOS and Android, a design system and a developer handover in Figma. We can also build the app with the same team, so nothing is lost between a design agency and a development agency.
We do not publish a design-only price list, because the cost depends on the number of journeys, the platforms and how much research you need; design-only work is quoted after a free call. What we do publish: a free working prototype of your core journey in 5–10 working days, Product Discovery from £3,000, a designed and built Startup MVP from £10,000 in 6–8 weeks, and a full production app at £25,000–£60,000. See our UK app cost guide.
For a typical first release, user research takes 1–2 weeks, scope 1 week and the prototype and UI 2–3 weeks. A larger product with a full design system usually takes 4–12 weeks. The free working prototype comes first, in 5–10 working days.
We design one product and adapt it to each platform: Apple's Human Interface Guidelines on iOS and Material Design on Android, so navigation, controls and gestures feel native on both. Shared components live in one design system, which keeps the cost close to designing once.
Yes. You receive the Figma files with developer mode, annotated edge cases, the design system and prototype links, so any competent iOS, Android or cross-platform team can build from them. If you later want us to build it, the same designers stay on the project.
You do. We sign an NDA on day one, and designs, source files and IP are transferred to you on payment.
