Hadleigh Ford and Ben Scott came to us in 2015 with a vision and we hit it off right away. Maritime professionals with plenty a story to tell, both decided to settle down in their native New Zealand and to supplement their full-time jobs with income from a technology startup. Our clients envisioned an employee and visitor management software - an iPad receptionist app with robust back-end admin functionality.

Together we ideated, considered the best approaches to take on IT product implementation and worked tirelessly with the two founders to design the software. Once Magora developed the market-ready product, the founders were able to onboard real paying customers, raise $1M seed capital and quit their day jobs to work full-time at their tech startup.
Technical details:
- Frontend: Angular
- Backend: PHP Laravel, MySQL
- iOS app: Objective-C
Success
Since their launch SwipedOn:
- have engaged over 2700(!) customers (and planted a native tree for each, as per their pledge!)
- were ranked by Deloitte in Technology Fast 500 APAC
- were listed as IT market leader in visitor management on G2 Crowd
- were acquired by SmartSpace Software for close to $10.5M AUD in November 2018 with founders and all team member staying on with the company
Reasons
A key driver for project success was Magora’s star dev team coupled with our clients’ unstoppable dedication to the product. Even as Magora was going through agile development sprints, Ben and Hadleigh were signing up first customers for trial upon product release. This enabled the software to be battle tested hot-off-the-press which provided invaluable data metrics and insights into customer and user needs.
The numbers after launch.
Magora treated regulatory and engineering as one problem. We hit our compliance baseline and our launch date — first time, no retrofit.
Built with what holds up at scale.
