An iOS app development company,
in one paragraph.
Magora is a UK iOS app development company based in London, building apps since 2010 with more than 500 digital products delivered. We design and build native iPhone and iPad apps in Swift and SwiftUI, with the backend behind them, and take them through App Store review in your company's name. When you need Android too, the same team builds it in Kotlin, or we build one cross-platform app for both. Every project starts with a free working prototype, and prices are published.
Swift and SwiftUI
iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and the rest of the Apple ecosystem, built the way Apple intends.
App Store, done for you
Developer account in your company's name, TestFlight, privacy details and App Review.
Kotlin, same team
The Android version from the same team, so both apps stay in step.

iPhone app development
Native Swift and SwiftUI apps, from the first prototype to App Store release.
iPad apps
Larger-screen apps for field, on-site and retail work, often alongside an iPhone app.
Apple Pay and Wallet
Payments, passes and cards in the Apple Wallet, built into your app's journeys.
Bluetooth and connected devices
Apps that talk to hardware: sensors, smart-home devices and IoT products.
watchOS, tvOS, visionOS
Companion apps for Apple Watch, Apple TV and Vision Pro where the product needs them.
Maintenance and iOS upgrades
Each new iOS version, App Store policy changes, crash monitoring and new features.
Android app development,
from the same team.
Most UK products need both stores sooner or later. We build the Android app in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, publish it on Google Play and keep it in step with the iOS app. Need Android engineers for your own team? See hire Kotlin developers.
iOS first, Android next
Launch on iPhone, learn from real users, then add Android once the product works.
Native iOS and Android
Swift and Kotlin apps built in parallel, for products with heavy device features.
One cross-platform app
React Native or Flutter: one codebase for both stores when the app does not need deep device access.

Every step ends with something you can see, and you can install the app on your own iPhone from the first sprint through TestFlight.

iOS and Android apps
we've built.
Four apps on the App Store and Google Play: interpreting, smart lighting, a nursery device and retail quality control.
Interprefy
- Built
- iOS, Android and web apps for a cloud platform that streams event audio to interpreters and translated audio to the audience.
- Result
- Up to 100 languages and 400 interpreters during one event; used for UEFA EURO 2020 press conferences and UN sessions.
Organic Response
- Built
- iOS and Android apps and a web portal that control a smart lighting system through IR dongles and light sensors.
- Result
- Energy saving of 46% versus networked addressable systems, with payback in as little as three years.
Sweet Dreamers
- Built
- The app that controls Misty, a smart nursery device: temperature alerts, colour therapy, feeding and nappy tracking, Alexa voice commands.
- Result
- Misty won the ABC Kids Expo Award of Distinction, Outstanding Tech Savvy category.
Danone
- Built
- A quality-control app for retail: product placement, defects and storage conditions reported from the shelf.
- Launch
- We registered Danone's Apple Developer account and helped with the D-U-N-S number.

iOS app development
questions.
At Magora, Discovery starts from £3,000, an iOS MVP from £10,000 in 6–8 weeks and a full production app at £25,000–£60,000; senior Swift engineers are from £49 an hour (about £390 a day). Apple also charges $99 a year for the Developer Program; our guide to the Apple Developer fee covers what else launching costs.
If your users are mostly on iPhone, iOS first is a sensible way to launch and learn, with Android added once the product works. If you need both from day one, we either build native Swift and Kotlin apps or one cross-platform app in React Native or Flutter. We recommend one after the free prototype.
Native Swift and SwiftUI are worth it for heavy device features, complex animation, Apple Pay and Wallet, or hardware such as Bluetooth devices. Cross-platform suits most business apps that need both platforms and one codebase. See React Native and Flutter.
Yes. We set up the Apple Developer account in your company's name, help with the D-U-N-S number Apple asks organisations for, and handle TestFlight, privacy details, App Review and the release. We did the same for Danone. Google Play publishing works the same way for Android.
Yes. iPad apps are often the right tool for field and on-site work, as in our Organic Response lighting-control app; we also build for watchOS, tvOS and visionOS where the product needs it.
You do. We sign an NDA on day one, the code lives in your repository, and the App Store listing sits in your company's developer account. Source code, designs and IP are transferred to you on payment.
